Welcome to Santorini
The island is about 15 miles long and 3 miles wide, so everything is pretty close to each other distance wise. This being said traffic can cause the commute from one part of the island to another to take around 45 minutes between each location.
OIA
Oia is the oldest and northernmost town on the Island. Because it has become the main tourist destination, prices for food, shopping and accommodations are nearly twice as high than Fira. While it’s stunning, we recommend a day trip vs. staying here.
FIRA (THIRA)
Fira is the most centrally located town on the island and has a ton of options for food, nightlife, shopping and accommodations. Our wedding will be held at Rocabella Santorini which is located in between Oia and Fira.
AKROTIRI
This side of the island is a bit more quiet/sleepy than the rest of the island as this is where most locals reside. For the sake of convenience and ease, we wouldn’t recommend that you stay in Akrotiri as restaurants and activities are more limited here, but its worth visiting should you plan for an extended stay in Santorini.
Accommodations
We are recommending that all of our guests stay at Rocabella Santorini as this is where the wedding ceremony and reception will be taking place. The property is beautiful, and they offer a variety of different room types.
Our guests can take advantage of a 20% discount on accommodation when booking directly through the official website. Select your desired dates and room type. Enter the voucher code, Lindsey & Konstantinos, in the designated field below the guest details section. The discount will be applied automatically to your booking. Please note that this voucher is only valid until March 31, 2025 and room reservations are subject to availability, so please make your reservations as soon as possible.

Getting to Santorini
Guests can fly directly from the USA to Athens, Greece. From Athens, you can either take a short flight to Santorini, or you can enjoy the ferry ride from Athens to Santorini as an alternative option.
Additionally, should you wish to fly to another European destination from the USA before heading to the wedding, there are direct flights to Santorini from London, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Prague, Venice and Rome.
Transportation
We recommend booking a rental car, and then picking it up after you have arrived to your accommodations. You can get an Uber or taxi to and from the airport to your accommodations which will be ideal for transporting luggage. Most of the rental cars in Santorini are very small so we always recommend stopping by your accommodations to drop off luggage, then proceeding to pickup your rental car. We have had great experiences booking with Enterprise Santorini. Because September is a busy time in Santorini, we recommend booking your hotel and and rental cars in advance.
Passport Reminder
It is required to have at least six-month's validity remaining on your passport whenever you travel abroad. Check the expiration date on your passport carefully before traveling to Europe.

In September, Santorini has consistently warm days, only a small amount of cloud coverage and it very rarely rains. Make sure you pack your high factor sun cream and light clothing. Wind can be unpredictable and can cause chilly evenings, so we encourage guests to pack with this in mind.
In September you can expect an average daytime temperature of 78F. With 13 hours of sunlight you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your days in the sun.

Yes, our wedding ceremony and reception will both be outside.

Due to capacity restrictions at our wedding venue, we are only able to extend invitations to a limited number of guests. Please see the name(s) listed on your save the date and invitation envelopes to determine if a plus one has been extended to you. Thank you so much for understanding.

Because August and September are busier months in Santorini, we recommend booking your hotel sooner than later. Hotel information is provided above and our discount code is valid through March 31, 2025 based on hotel availability.
